Directions Need Work,

"Directions needs work. I rinsed the rice and lentils first. I put in 11/2 tablespoons dried sage. I also used no-sodium-added bread crumbs (homemade). I also needed to add more water (about 4 cups) halfway through cooking.I got three loaves baked in glass bread-pans.
I agree that this recipe is a little bland. I think they'd have tasted better if I'd added salt and pepper to taste, which I did not due to a friend's heart condition. Next time I think I'll take some onion, fresh garlic, and greens from my garden, sautee them up, and add them to the loaves. I'd also check stuffing recipes for some other herbs to add instead of salt. Rosemary might work well. I'm thinking of substituting melted Smart Balance spread for the vegetable oil, too, for the extra flavor."
