Awesome, with a bit of doctoring!, April 3, 2009

"First, they don't mention how much milk to use. I just eye-balled it and added about half a cup and then some water and I also threw in some boullion (~1/4 tsp). You could use all milk if you like, but just make sure that you don't use too much or it won't gel and hold the casserole together.

OK, so I absolutely DREAD canned vegetables, so I used about a pound of fresh chopped kale (the bagged kind you buy in the grocery). I steamed it and drained it and then added it to the recipe. I added some red pepper flakes to spice up the kale mixture a bit. I also chopped up two chicken breasts into small (less than 1" cubes) and layered them raw in along with the first layer of cheese (I used extra sharp white cheddar). On the top I didn't add more cheese, I just used enough panko to cover the whole thing. Then I sprinkled with some garlic powder and popped it in the overn!

So I guess I used the recipe more as a guideline, but it sure came out yummy!"
