"Ms. Hackett is mixing up the ingredients of two different rice recipes. The "lemon rice" doesn't use either ginger or cilantro. It does use curry leaves, almost a must. In addition, during the frying of mustard and cumin seeds, one would also add (before) some yellow split peas (the indian variety - chana dal, if you can get it), and finally some cashew nuts as a garnish. The other rice dish is "Yogurt Rice", which does use ginger and cilantro, along with all these other ingredients. Instead of the lemon juice, one would use yogurt or butter milk, enough to soak up all the rice."
