Fast, easy, tasty,

"Although the recipe does not specify it, I marinated the onions 1/2 hour before grilling. It seemed to make them tastier. Keep the grill oiled and wiped down, as the onions and ham can be messy. On one trial, I ran out of thyme, but had Italian seasoning, which was just as good. I don't see why you could not also use rosemary or oregano and basil. On the whole, this sandwich is fast, easy, and delicious. Good for those nights when you have a hungry family, or for one or two people."
