"I'm pleased to know someone thinks a little like I think. I pre-cook some of my add-ins including 2 chopped apples, a chopped pear, 1/4 cup of dried cranberries, 1/4 cup of raw ginger, and 5 chopped dried plums (prunes) by microwaving them on the "fresh vegetable" setting in 2 quart pyrex cup. Then I add 3/4 cup of oatmeal, 1 and 1/2 cups of water, 1/2 cup of flax meal (stored in a plastic bag in the freezer after grinding the seed in a glass blender), 1/3 cup chopped almonds, 1/3 cup chopped walnuts, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1 shake of cumin, and sometimes a little salt and sometimes a tablespoon of honey. I microwave the glorious mixture on high for about 10 minutes. I divide it into about 4 servings and serve it to myself with plain fat-free yogurt on top. Like some of you, it works for me as fast good food any time. I didn't realize I could dress up the flax meal. I was dressing up the oatmeal. Roadrunner714"
