"The batter was a little thin so that it was difficult to fill the waffle iron successfully. It worked best with slightly more than 1/2 cup of batter per batch which made more of a round shape than the usual 4-square, but the texture was light and the taste was great. Since appearance means a lot less to me than taste and texture, I'll definitely make this recipe again.
Note: The buttermilk I used was thin. Had the buttermilk been the usual thick commercial kind, the batter would probably be thicker."
