"Try radishes instead of cauliflower. No need for any thickener, low carb or otherwise, as these soups were thin as water originally. If you don't want the white chowder, make it ever lower carb without any half & half, etc. It then turns into a genuine Rhode Island clear chowder - another New England original, or add a tablespoon of tomato sauce to the clear chowder & make original Rhode Island red chowder. Early recipes never called for any kind of vegetables. It was simply clams in it!"
