Not very "magnetic" at all, November 13, 2008

""Death Magnetic" was pretty much my introduction to Metallica. After listening to the CD, I wasn't horribly impressed. The songs where too long, and they just didn't measure up to what little Metallica I'd heard before this CD. Frankly, I think nothing the band can do will equal up to "Enter Sandman" and "One".
After my second, painstaking, listen to the CD, I became almost addicted to "Suicide and Redemption." I have to grudgingly admit that the CD isn't all bad, but not near as good as the earlier albums. If you're looking to get started with Metallica, I would advise starting with some of the earlier stuff. Unless you're a hard core fan, this CD is only good for a very long bit of passing entertainment. The cover was creative, though."
