Reluctantly Won Over, January 15, 2009

"I hate TV. I hate when my kids (3 and under 1) watch TV.

But little by little I have broken down. First I said okay to some dance videos like the Wiggles that get them moving on house-bound days. And a little Sesame Street s good for them.

Four days a week they are home with my husband and with the nasty weather he started letting some more TV. I was furious -- until I saw my 3 year old with Super Why. She is actually spelling first of all.

And the show isn't passive -- she has to work at it a bit. The stories are cute...and my husband uses some computer activities and coloring pages to follow up on the stories and letters.

All in all -- it's not a bad way to spend a snowed in day."
