very disappointing screen, February 6, 2009
By daja62

"I have no less than 6 garmin gps all different varietys and years old I loved them all .I bought the oregon 200 hoping to get a portable color screen that would fit in my hand and be rugged with a great sunlight veiwable screen. well i think its rugged but the screen is THE POOREST SCREEN I have ever seen by any manufacturer! And remember i love garmin! But this one they missed the boat entirely .The touch screen is so so but the biggest problem is the screen ,which is hard to see thru ,dulls the picture ,makes it hard to see in the sun as well as in any condition wish they would of used a clear screen like on the itouch/iphone a touch screen that works great and lets you see thru it brilliantly. My old garmin with a grey scale screen from 6 years ago is much easier to see in regular light as well as sunlight this color screen is very very hard to see outside and tends to be a little blurry because of the touch screen materials they used . The gps works fine but if you cant see the screen the gps is of little value, like owning a bmw without a engine! I woudl not recommend this to anyone soley because of the poor screen resolution."
