Buyer Beware of Roxio''s Misleading Pricing,

"While there seems to be consensus that this is a good product, Roxio's deliberately misleading pricing policies and poor customer support should give new users pause.
I purchased and downloaded Toast 10 from the Roxio website where they state the price to be $79.99 (after $20.00 mail-in rebate). It does not say that the rebate is for previous owners only. It does not say that there are restrictions on the rebate. It does not suggest reviewing the rebate form for details. What is does say is that $79.99 is "Your Price." As it turns out, "Your Price" only applies if "you" happen to be a "previous owner."
Not only did their customer support supervisor not admit that their website was misleading, he suggested that I should have known to link to the rebate form where I would have discovered that this is an upgrade only rebate. Since this is not standard in the industry and since I had no reason to suspect that Roxio was intentionally trying to deceive, I only discovered the truth after the purchase.
A good product with poor customer service is a bad deal at any price. Buyer Beware!"
