Why K12 only?,

"I gave an overall rating of 1 star because I'm quite disappointed and surprised that both U.S. Figure Skating and About.com is endorsing a particular distance learning educational program instead of remaining neutral and exploring the entire issue of distance learning for elite athletes. K12 is but one of several excellent distance learning high school programs available to figure skaters accredited by regional accrediting agencies listed by the U.S. Department of Education. Since when is About.com and U.S. Figure Skating qualified to comment about the quality or fitness of any schools educational program for figure skaters.
The article implies, by its omission of all the other accredited distance learning high schools, that K12 is the only qualified game in town...and it's definitely not.
If the author and U.S. Figure Skating are truly concerned with the value of distance learning for figure skaters then mention and review ALL accredited distance learning high school programs in the U.S. Schools such as Laurel Springs, Keystone and Kaplan, to name just a few.
I believe it would be in every parties best interest to review all qualified programs to enable parents of figure skaters to make a informed and unbiased decision. A good place to start is http://www.bestonlinehighschools.com"
