Unsafe Grills....,
April 29, 2009

"Well, I should have read this blog last year when I bought my Charmglow Porcelain grill, a Brinkman 810-7500-S. Four days ago on the burners literally blew up on my grill. The force of the blast took out two other burners, broke the support bar and splattered me and my son with grease from the ribs we were cooking.
I called Brinkman at the 800 number and was told "We pride ourselves on excellent Customer Service" and my number was placed "In a que for a call back". Well, here I am, no call.
I ended up calling the Consumer Product Safety Commission and filing a complaint "with injury" with them. The stainless steel they claim to use in these grills is NOT true stainless. The rust formed on the inside of the tube and clogged the end of the burner. A pocket of gas is what ignited and caused the burner to blow in two places.
So everyone knows, Charmglow is actually owned by Home Depot. They bought the rights from the old Charmglow company of Canada and have Brinkman making them in China with vastly inferioir parts. So, I would avoid ANY GRILL from Home Depot.
If you have ANY problem that Brinkman and Home Depot will not help with, file a complaint with the CPSC."
