"Undoubtedly, the worst grill I have ever owned!! Yes, that's correct. Bought in June '07 at local Home Depot ~ $450.00. Was rated very high by Consumer Reports according to my wife...... was a bit sceptical after owning a (1) Ducane grill w rotisserie for 23 years. Now they knew how to make grills!!! And yes, I did spend money to rebuild the Ducane Grill.......2 times in 23 years..~$300
Blue Ember is simply a "gas" grill, no lava rocks etc....so your cooking via direct natural gas flame, not by radiant heat from lava rocks heated by gas flame. Grease is a big deal with this Blue Ember grill because some drips down onto the burner grease cover plates by design, but most grease drips and is caught by a large thin guage, cheaply fitted, conical shaped capture tray w/ grease cup. Our shaped grease tray and cup rotted out completely in 12 months...nice huh. Rotisserie burner no longer will stay lit after 1-2 seconds, chrome front door handles and bottle opener are rusting out, grill grates porcelain ceramic covering is cracking off like mad w/ just using typical bbq brass brush/scraper......all this in less than 15-16 months!! NOT GOOD!!
I have been in contact w/ Fiesta/Blue Ember Customer Service and they indicate all claims are under 2 yr warranty.....OK, but then what? after 24 months?? Look at a Ducane.....even though they were acquired by Weber-Stephens, who has rumored to have lowered Ducane quality in parts and price point. Good Luck!"
