"Just to help you all out some. to register and fix the not connected to net thing you have to download this new patch. then (vista only i think) you have to run family tree in administrator mode. and then you have to click on Patch(that you saved to the desktop) and run it in administrator mode. Should fix most problems. I have been running ok since i did this. I emailed support for this problem and it took them 8 days to get back to me. They only explained half to me to top it off. I spent 5 hours figuring this out the same night i bought this new 2008 tree maker. Disappointed with new design though. To make things worse after i spent all that money and all that time fixing it they send out 2009 free. 2008 is working okay now. but I have my new 2009 and still haven't installed it. To afraid i will run into similar problems with it. I don't want the headache all over again."
