Good Review - Lost Show,
January 7, 2009

"SG: Atlantis had a few good episodes in the first seasons, but it just couldn't hold my attention once they regained contact with Earth. Basically, I continued to watch the show to see Carson Beckett. When they killed him, they lost a viewer. After reading this review I see I didn't miss much.
I think that their attempt to "add to the danger" of the mission by killing off main characters was a misfire. Why they didn't learn this in SG:1 when they killed Daniel, I'll never guess. The only thing that this "suspense gimick" does is cause fans to disengage their emotional investment in a show. Sure, cr@p happens in real life, but I don't watch TV to experience "real life" trauma. I don't think most scifi fans do either.
Nevertheless, if Carson Beckett ever returns to scifi in another spin-off of SG I'd be on it like flies on honey.
