"Recently, a friend of mine turned me on to Amon Amarth. I was skeptical when he lent me "Twlilight of the Thundergod". What's the point of music that you can't understand? But, if for no other reason than to tell my friend his musical taste was off, I listened to the CD, and now I can say I'm hooked.
As a long time fan of bands such as Metallica and Disturbed, I didn't expect Amon Amarth to be able to match my love for my other faves. I was quickly proven wrong. I instantly fell in love with the melody, and the vocals had an intensity that suprised me. The guitar solos were excellent, and the guest appearance by Apocalyptica was impressive and lent another, almost surreal, quality to the music.
Overall, Amon Amarth is one of the few bands of any genre that I've heard who can tell a deep story through both the music and the lyrics. This album is definetly worth the price."
