GOOGLE CHROME SHINES,
March 26, 2009

"I switched to Google Chrome from another browser a week ago. I dont particularly like changing browsers, servers, or getting up to speed on new software. Try to avoid it actually, based on past experience I reckon I will have lots to learn along those lines, without having to look for it.
But I was getting lots of crashing with the old browser. Lots. Debugs were not debugging. Got some feedback from the browser, that intimated I had equipment problems...
The final straw came when I was trying to keep two sites open, as I had to cut and paste from one site into another. Well, the site I had to transfer to crashed about ten times in a row!
So I loaded up Google Chrome and made it my default browser....very few crashes so far, I mean minimal. And, its only the website that crashes that I loose.
Really like the tab system Chrome has come up with. I'm on the wrong side of 55 and I've done my share of digging through files, so its like deja vue all over again.
As an experiment, I opened 14 tabs:14 websites open simultaneously. Google Chrome handled it ok, if not well. Navigating in one site whilst 13 were 'on' seemed to make operating a little chunky. Usually I might want maybe 3 or 4 open at same time, so its not an issue.
Plus Google Chrome seems to open bookmarks faster.
Transfer of data from old browser was smooth. Can still get into old browser by going to my programs. It always asks me, want to make this your default browser? NOT!
So far, the results speak for themselves.
