Good design, faulty manufacture,

"From the vendor’s website I ordered two model 1200 PlantWatchers about 7 weeks ago. They arrived promptly but one was cracked do to having been shipped in a flimsy plastic bag. The vendor then sent me two others at no charge. I evaluated the three working PlantWatchers for several weeks during which they worked more or less as advertised. However, once the adhesive used to attach the ceramic disc had become thoroughly permeated with moisture it lost its adhesion to the plastic, the disc became detached, and the device would no longer hold water. In short, the design of the PlantWatcher is workable but its manufacture is faulty."
