Remington Hedge Clippers - Broken,

"Unfortunately, the hedge clippers that I bought lasted about 3 hours total trim time. At one point I noticed that the blades were not really cutting, but just moving like they were nervous. I unplugged the unit and was able to move the blades easily by hand. Apparently they were no longer connected to whatever drives them. I received these as a gift and have no records of a purchase. Is it worth trying to pay for getting them repaired or just buy another product?"
