"Like most relatively new things, seat belts for dogs need revision. I bought a seat belt for my dog this past summer. Since my dog loves to ride in the car with me, I felt I was being a responsible pet owner by purchasing the belt. Upon using the belt for the first time, I ensured it had been properly adjusted and that my dog was comfortable. Maggie Mae, my little cockapoo, who is NOT a chewer, chewed through her dog seat belt in less than 15 minutes. Maggie Mae did not show any obvious signs of struggling against the belt while she was in it. She appeared to be laying quietly in the seat beside me with her head lowered as I was driving. I pulled up to a stop light not far from my home. I turned my attention to Maggie Mae to see how she was enjoying the ride just in time to she her pull the belt off of herself. She had chewed entiring through the webbing material of the belt. If my little dog could do this in less than 15 minutes, a real chewer could probably chew through the present dog seat belts on the market in less than 2 minutes."
