"I got the original Drinkwell a little over 4 years ago. It's still running like a champ, which impresses me a lot since it runs non-stop. I would definitely buy another one. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 mostly because when I used the charcoal filters, little fibers would float around in the water. I stopped using the charcoal filters because I have a reverse osmosis system that thoroughly filters all my water. More recent Drinkwells may have solved the filter problem.

I have the extra reservoir, which I like having. I take it apart and clean it twice a week. Some people think it's hard to clean, but it really only takes 5-10 minutes. It helps to buy the set of small brushes they offer. Some people put them in the dishwasher - I hand clean mine.

There can be a vibration noise on a hard floor, so I set mine on a plastic pad with a slight lip around the edges. That way if they spill any water there's no harm from it.

I don't know if my cats drink more because of it. They also drink from other household water sources. It sure doesn't hurt :-)"
