What an album!, July 16, 2009

"Along came Jordin Sparks, 6th season American Idol winner, happy as can be. Her debut album was full of rushed material that had only 3 valuable songs: Tattoo, No Air, and One Step at a Time. The album lacked substance and didn't create a well-designed image for Ms. Sparks.

Battlefield, her sophomore effort, shatters her debut. The music on the album is packed with catchy, yet emotionally connective tunes. Songs such as "No Parade" produce deep feelings while also inducing Sparks' amazing vocals, which are even more ecstatic in songs such as "Let It Rain", the jewel of the album. And while "Let it Rain" is the jewel, "Faith", written by Sparks', is the diamond in the rough. Altogether, the album shows a well-balanced collection of songs that describe a "Battlefield of love". "You better go and get your armor", because this album requires you to have it.."
