"We have kits that we bought from Jeep. Living in the mountains, you here of people getting stranded in weather that forces them to stay on their cars overnight, or longer. We had extra room in the kits and added: Spare headlight bulbs and all the tools needed to make the switch. Fuses. 1 QT motor oil. 1 Qt ATF. Tape designed to seal a hose leak. A cigarrette lighter in a waterproof baggy. Candles - candles actually give out enough heat to keep the interior of a car above freezing. A signal mirror. A small transistor radio. 6 pints of water and a box of Cliff Bars. We also carry a small compressor, a gallon of washer fluid, two jacks, a folding shovel, a bag of cat litter and a canned air signal horn. The first aid kid in the story is a little light on supplies for a real emergency, but that can be remedied by going to any army surplus store and getting a field kit. I have everyone in our family carry an extra days worth of prescriptions on thier persons or in their coats or purses."
