"Not sure if this is the worst restaurant in Venice but I can assure you it is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life and I have been to a lot of restaurants around the world both michelin starred and more modest restaurants.
Quite literally the worst food I have ever tasted in my entire life. This place seems only to exist to take advantage of visitors to Venice. We went here as it was recommended in Lonely Planet. We had eaten at La Zucca the night before and that was wonderful. Trattoria al Ponte looked to have a pleasant location, that is all that can be said for it. My wife had Pasta e fagiola which shold be lovely bean soup but this was a grey liquidised slop that was tasteless other than the table spoons of salt lumped into it. I had Spaghettini with prawns - I can only say that the smell and taste of this was worse than three day old powdered soup. Salty with a sick smell and the prawns were certainly not fresh. As soon as we started eating this we said we weren't looking forward to the main course. How we wish we had asked them not to bring those. My wife had fish that was quite obviously straight out of the freezer. It was supposed to have been fried but would seem to have been baked for the whole day as it had the consistency of shoe leather but without the taste. I had the mixed fried fish, again horrible and dry and seemingly frozen. We ardly ate any of this food and when we complained the waiter just took our plates away. With wine the price was €70 - an absolute disgrace, worse than a £5 cafe. You have been warned!!
I have given it one star as this is lowest rating but 0 stars would be too many."
