"I have 2 dogs, lots of carpeting and renting a rug shampooer from a hardware store is just too inconvenient so I decided to buy the Platinum Steam/Vac with the 6 year warranty thinking that was a statement about the quality. I admit to being an appliance snob and only want to buy, and don't mind paying for, the highest quality. I was so excited when the machine worked beautifully on the first carpet, then the brushes stopped spinning. I took them out, cleaned all the lint meticulously and still the brushes wouldn't spin. The only way I could get the brushes to work was to change the settings from carpet to rug, but the noise it made when doing so was disturbing. Now remember I had the machine for 2 days! I brought it back for a refund and am now back to square one!"
