Not a good purchase!!, March 24, 2009
By Jhibdon

"I owned a Hoover "steam vac" for about five years, noticing that it was well worn, and not in good working order, Yet still worked, I bought a new one, thinking that the scrubbing brushes would be a big plus in the cleaning process. Boy this entire machine has been a big dissapointment.... The brushes worked for about four cleanings, and I had cleaned all the lent and fuzzies out of them, even took them out and cleaned them in dish detergent and water. Then the furniture attachment has never worked properly, it sucks, yet it won't spray the water, it just dribbles out "some of the time". The tank fits on to a rubber grommet that has a tiny plastic piece to expel the water, and it has broken off, and now the water won't release when I pull the trigger. Worst yet I took it to the nearest Hoover repair center, and the man there said " that I could send the entire unit to Hoover," (witch would cost me a small fortune in shipping,) and "I might get it back in about three months, and they might tell me it can not be repaired." He also called my Steam Vac, " dissposable" and said he could sell me one for three times the money that would last ten years or better. ALL I can say is DON'T BUY ONE!!!!!!"
