Very Habit-Forming!,

"This is the perfect item for those who RESENT the idea of paying $30 to a cellphone carrier for monthly access, or simply don't want to switch carriers to use the iPhone. I still have my access at home, work, a few other public places (like the public library, some cafes and gyms), and friends' houses/apartments.
But the real advantage is that I'm actually becoming semi-organized! When I plan something for work or leisure, it goes right onto my iPod calendar. (And an alarm reminds me of the event up to two days in advance.)
Also, I could never get into the habit of using an address book, but on this device it's almost (dare I say) Fun. I can wake up and check the weather or my e-mail at the touch of a button. Ditto for movie showtimes--one of many Apps that are available--a free one, as I've yet to pay for anything extra.
I did pay $20 for one "software update" when I first got the iPod Touch, but compate that to the $360 (!!!) annually I'd be paying to AT&T for 24/7 access. I personally don't mind not being able to use it in as many places as people use their iPhones, because I don't think it's fair to charge people that much for "access". And I don't mind carrying a separate phone.
It'd be nice to have to have the iPhone for everything, but I can think of better things to do with $360 a year--so the iPod Touch suits me fine!"
