"So often, our encounters with restaurants are disappointing, due to unrealized expectations. Abuelo's has been a favorite of my family's since it opened in our town. While it is impossible to deny the abscence of a romantic decor, it is just as easily seen that, in many ways, the atmosphere is unobnoxiously noisy, but pleasant. The service is routinely well above average and the food, while it has no similarity to the haute quisine of more sophisticated culinary establishments, is always fresh and well prepared. My expectations are more than satisfied. The review I read, about Taco Bell being a better choice, could not have been written by anyone who is forced to dine out often. I would rate Abuelo's as a five for service, three and a half for decor, and four for food. In my mind this is nearly double the score I would normally give for any restaurant where I pay less than twenty five dollars for lunch for two. It costs nearly twenty dollars for two to eat at McDonald's. For the price, it is an excellent choice for business, or something extraordinarily better than fast-food dining."
