Good Margarita/AWFUL AWFUL Service and Staff, May 20, 2009
By hollyfo

"I am just going to post part of my complaint letter to lime rather than write this all again. I went ahead and gave them one star because the margarita was REALLY good. However the fried ice cream...where not bad was a little strange and the frozen strawberries that garnished it were mushy and kinda gross.

From my email to the company:

A girlfriend and I decided at the last minute to meet for a drink since our husbands agreed to watch the babies. It was our first drink together baby free in MONTHS and it had us both so gleeful it would be hard to p!$$ us off (trust me...very hard to p!$$ us off). However, our waiter Dirk came pretty close. My girlfriend arrived 15 minutes before I did at 9:15pm at the Lime on 6th and Clarkson. She waited at the door for a few minutes but saw no hostess or other staff interested in seating her so assumed it was open seating and sat herself. After 5 minutes she determined it was too loud inside (the excitement over the Nuggets game) and sat herself outside. When I arrived about 10 minutes later she informed me that no server or other staff had approached her. After I was there for five minutes a young man brought us chips and water, but still no server. There were two severs waiting on other tables on the patio but neither acknowledged us. After 10 minutes of talking I asked my friend if maybe there were no waiters working and we had to go to the bar for our drinks and food....when I asked this question one of the waiters tending to the other tables on the patio turned to our table, rolled his eyes and said something with a disgusted face to his friend then turned back to the nuggets game. I assumed this meant they were no longer waiting on the patio and gave my girlfriend my credit card and ID so she could order our drinks from the bar. It turned out we did have a waiter (the rude eye roller) and that when she went to the bar to order our drinks she was instead reffered to our waiter who pried himself away from the nuggets game to ask her what she wanted.

As someone who has worked as a server in the restaurant business for 11 years, I wish I could say when forced to deal with us our waiter collected himself and gave excellent service redeeming himself in such a manner so that we forgot the eye rolling and ignoring. However, he acted put off by us and treated us in such a way that I was incredibly offended. We were informed of last call and each ordered a beer...however, ten minutes later we were being stalked by a waiter who wanted his check back. If he didn't have but 10 minutes before he wanted us out then he really should not of offered last call. Usually last call is 30 minutes before closing. After 15 minutes an unidentified non-smiling woman (either the missing hostess before or a manager) came over and informed us that we could either move it to the bar or finsih because the patio was closed and we were not allowed to stay there, then before I could finishfinish responding she was back out the door. Then our waiters friend stepped out as we were walking off the patio and asked "what our problem was", which was completely inappropriate. I could go on in the ways I feel that your restaurant failed tonight as far as your customer service goes but personally I feel like I have wasted enough time already in an email that will probably be ignored. Although, your food was good (we had the fried ice cream) and your margaritas were tasty, obviously customer service is not a high priority. Regardless we still had a fun night, one of the most fun times we have gotten to have since our babies were born."
