Unfortunate lab results, November 7, 2008
By jesjov7

"I just completed a micobiology lab experiment that tested Clorox Green Works ability to "clean" my kitchen. It removed only 20% of the bacteria as opposed to the All-purpose cleaner with bleach. The surfaces it did remove any microorgainisms from were solid plastic and the microorganisms were most likely removed mechanically (by the paper towel). We were all rather disappointed, hoping that the pleasant smell and lack or residue would also be paired with the ability to kill some possibly harmful bacteria in a place that it is important to reduce them. The site specifically states that the product is not a disinfectant, and I have to wonder, why use it then? Plain soap and water will do the same thing as this more expensive product. Unless you are simply wanting a more natural "soap and water" method, Clorox Green Works is practically worthless. If you want an actually clean, bacteria/virus free kitchen, bathroom, etc, bleach is still the way to go.
And don't forget that alcohol is not a good (it is one, but it is poor) disinfectant or antiseptic either- so Listerine only removes bacteria mechanically through spitting, and helps lessen inflammation of the gums, but if you want to kill germs that cause bad breath go for Scope- tests showed unanimously that this is by far the best!!!! I had to replace mine today!!"
