Char Broil 500 infrared not for rotisserie, July 3, 2009

"Love this grill. Hot, even, chars well, sears well,but with less than 4" between IR grills and the spit, it is no candidate for rotisserie. You remove the cooking grates on most grills for this function, but doing so on this one defeats the IR.

Easy to assemble, instructions accurate and complete. No extra parts, so don't drop any.

Would prefer if the propane bottle were positioned to one side so a spare bottle could be stored next to it. This would require extending the heat shield and protecting the ignition block. Best bet would be two bottle depressions.

Too early to tell about keeping the stainless grate and perforated grill plate clean. Could be a hassle, might be worth it.

Highly satisfactory."
