"I was a big WWE fan and literally stopped watching it when Chris Benoit killed his family and himself and WWE aired a TRIBUTE show to him before the facts of the case were known. But I was really curious about this film and I have to say it blew me away. Like most great films -- and I don't use that description often -- it's about something bigger than its immediate subject. Is it "about" wrestling? Yeah, but brilliantly it's about indie show wrestling and not the big time. But more importantly it's about reaping what you sow, and about ultimately we all become the end product of the choices we make in life. Mickey Rourke is no hero, and neither is Randy The Ram Robinson. I hope he wins because he was great -- totally believable. (And Marisa Tomei deserves her Oscar just for having that body! :-) This is a grainy, gritty, low-tech film, a character study if there ever was one, that strikes a great balance between being about wrestling and also about what it's like to be a human being. I thought I would like The Wrestler but I never expected to be able to relate to it. But I did. Odds are in some way you will too."
