"The DVDO Edge is the first video processor I've used, or owned, so It would be impossible for me to compare it with anything else...however..when I see some of the prices for units that don't offer as many features..let alone the fact that I am very pleased with it...I would easily list this unit as a "buy" , I'm feeding a panasonic viera 50" 1080p plasma...I find quite a difference in the picture quality since incorporating the edge...It is a very noticable improvement with fast motion scenes and sports from my hi-def satellite box...the new firmware update improved the edge even further. The only complaints I may have..If I am allowed to complain about something in this price range is that(1) some type of memory for certain signals i.e. when switching to standard def 4:3 it would be nice if a zoom or panamorph setting could be set into memory, (2) the mosquito noise reduction doesn't seem all that great, and I pretty much never use it..before the firmware update it actually seemed to make the picture softer. I could rave on about all the things I like about the edge..It is a nice piece of hardware for any home theater enthusiast looking for reference quality video on their high end plasma through any source providing less than 1080p."
