One of the Best Manga Going, August 26, 2009

"I'm mesmerized by each new volume of Pluto that comes out. I was lukewarm on Monster, but am completely blown away by Pluto.

Obviously Urasawa is a greater plotter and developer of characters, but the thing that always strikes about Pluto is the consistency of tone, which is so hard to achieve in comics.

The way each character's past haunts him or her, and how even in their new lives they can't escape their past actions, is chilling and resonant.

You're right: this is great comics!"
