They sell to spammers,

"Had been signed up with this company for 6 months, recently began receiving spam on the email address I gave them. This was a custom address that was not given to anywhere else or posted on any website. The spam received was all of the same variety and obviously from the same group. Emusic's privacy policy states that they will not give your email address to any third party but they apparently do not follow that policy. When their customer support was contacted via the contact info given on the website they gave no response whatsoever."
