Real life depiction of a drug user, September 1, 2009
By lizmerf

"My hats off to Gus Van Sant for directing a movie that truely depicts the life of someone who is addicted to drugs and is lost due to tragedies in their lives. I fully believe that this is how Kurt Cobain functioned (as depicted so artfully by Michael Pitt) after losing interest in touring and being married to Courtney Love. It is abvious that Kurt was a very emotionally damaged individual who was controlled and bullied by his wife, Courtney Love! Kurt was also used by people who were suppose to be friends however had their own self serving motives. Cobain weighed only 110 lbs (at 5'10") at the time of his death. The frequent episodes of "nodding out" is a charateristic of heroin use. The damage, pain and hopelessness Pitt portrayed left an ache in my heart that lasted for days. It was truly difficult to get this movie out of my mind which is why I decided to write my feelings about this outstanding movie. I truly believe that Mr. Cobain was murdered and the truth will eventually come out no matter how long it takes. My you rest in peace Kurt knowing that your murderers will be brought to justice."
