"I am a 40 year old Little Rock native, and Browning's has been in business for as long as I can remember. Usually a restaurant does not stay in business for decades unless they are doing something right.
The restaurant has recently been refurbished and reorganized by a younger management team. I like some of the new ideas being implemented. There is now outdoor seating which is a nice addition. They are now open for breakfast which I think is quite good. They have a daily lunch special that is more of a blue plate special type meal, so you are not limited to the Mexican food on the menu. They also offer some fare from recipes that were part of a menu at another Little Rock establishment that recently closed- Cordell's. Cordell's was known for its deli type offerings such as sandwiches and salads. I definitely recommend the Cordell's chicken salad if available.
Their are too many items on the menu to give an in depth review, but Browning's is reasonably priced and pretty consistent. I think the blue plate special fried chicken that is on Wednesday is well worth the visit. Quantity is also never lacking.
The servers are generally friendly and attentive.
If you are from out of town, a trip to Browning's will take you to the historic Heights area of Little Rock. The Heights is a neat area to walk around and do some window shopping.
Happy dining!"
