"Herculiner is an excellent alternative for the budget minded. As for the other review claiming it is not durable? Well, it all comes down to the surface preparation. Applying it to a poorly prepared surface will obviously produce horrible results. It's a liner not a cover up, so remember to remove all rust, patch holes, and clean off the dirt. If you follow the directions correctly, the Herculiner will last many years.
Keep in mind that spray on linings cost $300-1000! As for the guarantee? Read the fine print, they don't cover user negligence, which they determine on the own. So if you damage your lining and they say it's your fault? No warranty! BUT they'll gladly repair it for about $90-200!!! With Herculiner? You'd just pickup a quart for less than $30 and repair it yourself.
Also, try going to one of the spray on places and ask them to do the bottom of your truck. They won't do it! Herculiner has so many uses that it's only limited by your imagination. I have it on my wheel wells, undercarriage, and side mouldings. I've even used it to protect my doors around the weather stripping, where water often pools up. And I haven't had any problems.
The only con was getting it off your skin. So wear and old long sleeved shirt along with the gloves. If putting it under your car...Wear a hat! While xylene can help to remove it, you really don't want to have to bathe in the stuff.
Given Herculiner's low cost and ease of use, I have to give it a 4-5 star rating. The only reason it's not a solid 5 is the availability of colors...but then again it is paintable, so that's really not a problem.
So if you're considering getting protection for your vehicle, price all the alternatives...the choice will be simple."
