"I had lost this recipe since making this some years ago, and was going through todays e-mails and found it again.Be assured it will go into my cooking journal. I made it for my son-in-laws birthday. In fact, I made one for each end of the table , and it was a success. I made plain caramel sauce, as I did not know how many would like the rum flavoring. I used 1 tsp. of very good vanilla that I buy through Pennzys.com.in place of the rum flavoring. By using their vanilla you use only half of the amount as it is stronger than the vanilla you buy at the grocery store.The cakes not only tasted decadent but were a decoration for the food table.
