I cut down on the sugar,

"Nice recipe, made it and will probably leave the pear out the next time and substitute. The only thing I did not like was the amount of sugar as described in the recipe.
Chutneys usually contain this amount of sugar, but I like to feel healthy about eating and still enjoy the good stuff. I used agave syrup instead of brown sugar.
Other than that I like the combination of spices. Great side dish with my curries."
