"The recipe tasted great. However, eliminating the seed skins is quite tedious work and I would definitely make sure there are other helpers around when I make this again. I took the skins off about 3/4 of the chick peas before I gave up, leaving the rest with the skins. It wasn't too bad that way but I wouldn't leave them all on. Many of the chick peas with the skin off almost dissolved, giving the soup a thicken broth and therefore less visible legumes for the kids to see if they are not too fond of whole chick peas. I added the cauliflower and cabbage from the optional section and would do that again. I could not find cardoons and thus omitted them."
