"I registered for About.com just so I could write a review of this recipe and let other people in on how good it is! It is definitely as good as a good Japanese restaurant's. I added some fresh grated ginger after taking if off the heat, which was terrific. I am so glad to have this in my files now. I shall have to get a better deep fat fryer as we will be eating tempura more often - I HATE bottled sauce!
FYI - you can buy powdered dashi at the Asian markets and just use a little (I used 1/2 tsp. to a cup of water). Looks like it will keep for a long time."
