The Best Haupia I've EVER tasted,

"I've lived in Hawaii off and on for over 33 yrs. I've eaten Haupia at restaurants and at other people's homes. I've cooked MANY different recipes for Haupia. This is the best I've ever had. It was creamy instead of like jell-o. Why? Probably because there is no gelatin in it! The only thing that I did differently is use about half the sugar but I like the sweetness of coconut. I am sure it was good with the full dose of sugar too. I am making it again tomorrow for a pot luck...this time I will double the recipe and add toasted coconut on top;-)"
