"I first drank Rob Roys in my fraternity house, and then at the old Hotel Washington rooftop bar in DC. It has remained my favorite mixed drink ever since, although now I usually drink single malt [Laphroaig] scotch with a little water on the side. It is also my test of agood bartender - one who knows classic drinks and not the appletinis, etc that seem to be most popular today"
