Very nice and quite simple, July 4, 2009

"I loved this bread, but must admit that I altered the recipe slightly.

Since the only beer I had was dark bottled and 33 cl I had to add a little water in order to get the right amount. Although in hindsight I could possibly have gotten away with just the beer since I also added an egg.

Also since I had a bit of trouble getting it to rise I extended the time to 2 hrs. and also allowed it to rise for 1 hr and 15 minutes prior to baking it.

I found it hard to get it to become brown so increased the baking time by 15 minutes and then moved them up to the top of the oven and gave them 5 minutes under the grill.

I then went over and gave one loaf to my neighbor and it was greatly appreciated.

I should also mention that I doubled the recipe so made 4 loaves.
