One glaring error...,

"I've lived in Mexico now for 15 years.
This is a correct recipe for Mexican salsa - except for the oil. Only if your intent is to eat the salsa right out of the bowl as a kind of "salad" should you even consider adding oil.
Oil is NEVER put into salsa. It makes the salsa cloying - it coats the tongue and dulls the spicy taste."
