"This is a great idea in theory, but I have been doing something similar for quite some time. I blend whole plain yogurt or Kefir with frozen, defrosted or fresh fruits. You can add a little water or whole milk if you need to thin it out. Sure, you have to strain it so it doesn't clog a sippy cup, but the whole fruit is still much healthier than juice. As for sweetness, a ripe banana always adds enough sweetness to make it tasty enough for little ones. I also add my son's liquid DHA supplement to this shake. Once your child is older, a spoonful of peanut butter can also be added for more protein and good fats."
