"This recipe as written did not turn out well for me. I even tried it twice. I was familiar with this dish as it was something my Egyptian father would make on occasion, but when I attempted this recipe, none of the spices that were added were even present in the taste. It tasted like bad homemade spaghetti sauce--acidic and bitter."
