"perfect! there was a Teriyaki restaurant near here a few years ago that had the best teriyaki sauce I've ever had and have been trying to duplicate it since they went out of business several years ago. tonight I got it!...or at least close enough for my taste.
I used your recipe but substituted honey for the sugar and added 1/8th teaspoon of sesame oil,
Eureka!"
